Conveyor Chains.

Conveyer chain under construction The photograph on the left shows a chain under construction which is destined for a building block manufacturer. Every tenth flight has TCCM20 segments welded on the front edge. They are approximately 3mm lower than the other flights. The normal flights leave a thin deposit on the conveyer bed which is then removed by the tipped flights. Before this technique was adopted the material being conveyed built up on the bed of the conveyer causing premature failure of the chain after only a few months.

Close up of the chain link.

The photograph on the right is a close up of one of the chain links showing a TCC/20 segment welded to it. These segments run inside the chain guides keeping them clear.
